With telehealth continuing to be a primary method of providing healthcare during the pandemic, our Clarion Community Health Center location is now offering telehealth for express care services. Express care is an extension of our primary care practice in which patients can receive care for non-emergency conditions. Similar to the walk-in option available at the health center, no appointment is needed if you call the office for a telehealth express care visit.
When you call the office, our staff will ask you questions about your symptoms and determine if a telehealth visit can be completed. Not all conditions can be treated via telehealth; if that is the case, the staff will schedule an in-person visit instead. All of our locations are taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our patients at in-person appointments.
If we move forward with a telehealth visit, the appointment will take place either through video conferencing or by phone. During your visit, the process will be similar to a face-to-face appointment: Your provider will evaluate your symptoms, offer instructions for at-home care, and send a prescription to the pharmacy if needed. They may also schedule a follow-up appointment, either in person or via telehealth, if your symptoms require further assessment. Some examples of conditions that can be treated through telehealth include:
- Sore throat
- Upset stomach
- Skin rashes
- Seasonal allergies
- Sinus infections
- Bug bites
