CRNP Residency Program


The mission of Primary Health Network’s CRNP residency program is to enrich newly licensed CRNPs by strengthening and further developing skills that lead to competence and confidence in a highly collaborative, interprofessional setting at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We strive to provide CRNP residents with a variety of clinical experiences, mentoring, and feedback focused on clinical complexity, evidence-based decision making, patient safety, and compassionate patient/family centered care to improve health outcomes.

  • Increase Patient Access: Addressing the primary care provider shortage while retaining our current workforce.
  • Ensure Evidence-Based Care: Utilizing clinical and didactic education to ensure evidence-based care for all patients.
  • Promote Professional Development: Through multidisciplinary collaboration, mentorship, and exposure to the mission of FQHCs.
  • Address Socioeconomic Determinants: Collaborating to improve health outcomes by addressing socioeconomic determinants of health.
  • Enhance Provider Skills: Developing teaching practices and enhancing leadership skills among current providers.
  • Grow Diverse Experience: Expanding the knowledge and diverse experience of existing staff and professionals.
  • Promote Work Vitality: Enhancing work vitality, engagement, and satisfaction to prevent provider burnout.
  • Residency Timeline: September 2025 – August 2026
  • Employment: One year salaried residency followed by employment at Primary Health Network.
  • Clinical Emphasis:
  • Precepted continuity clinics (40%)
  • Specialty rotations (20%) including Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Women’s Health, Urgent Care, Telemedicine.
  • Mentored Clinic (20%) focusing on acute and episodic care.
  • Education: Didactic sessions (20%) covering topics relevant to FQHCs, including lectures, case studies, and labs.
  • Project ECHO: Participation in case-based learning discussions with a multidisciplinary team of specialists.

  • Sharon Medical Group – Sharon, PA
  • With travel to other local Primary health Network locations

    • FNPs who completed their program after August 2023
    • Candidates must be licensed in either Pennsylvania or Ohio, but those not currently licensed in both states and willing to pursue licensure will receive support.
